At its annual Hosting & Cloud Transformation Summit (HCTS) in Las Vegas, technology research and advisory firm 451 Research has announced the establishment of its cloud native ‘Centre of Excellence’ (CoE). This new omni-channel initiative is intended to provide a comprehensive set of curated data and insight around the fast-emerging cloud native market.
Supported by analysts from all of 451 Research’s channel teams, this Cloud Native CoE brings together the company’s research spanning a large and diverse set of technologies. Underpinned by the 451 Research Cloud Native taxonomy, the CoE would allow clients to better understand and compare the many cloud native companies, tools, technologies and services that are available, how they will develop and how they can be used.
451 Research analysts also provide insight into the best practices, greatest challenges, key use cases in each technology sector and optimum opportunities for partnership and investment.
“Embracing the shift to ‘cloud native’ is a necessary step in the journey to successful digital transformation,” said William Fellows, Founder & Research Vice President of 451 Research during his presentation at the HCTS event. “Our clients have asked for help to make sense of the many hundreds of companies, technologies and tools that have emerged to stake a claim in this journey. Bringing together our collective data and insight across the entire Cloud Native spectrum will help us to more effectively deliver this insight – both tactical and strategic.”
The Use of Containers
Fellows went on to advise attendees that while most of today’s existing apps don’t use containers, 451 Research data finds that 78% of enterprises will be using them and 69% will be using Kubernetes to manage the new ‘atomic unit’ of computing within two years.
451 Research subscribers can now search for cloud native coverage within an interactive Research Dashboard on over 700 companies and 10 specific sectors including data management, DevOps, networking, security, serverless, service mesh, cloud native services, storage and more – as the analysts increase their coverage on the space. Market size and survey-based data and insight on cloud native can be gained from research deliverables including 451 Research’s Market Insight, Technology & Business Insight, Kubernetes Market Map, Container Security Market Map, Voice of the Enterprise, Voice of the Service Provider and more.
