AFAS Software, a provider of flexible business software for branch specific situations, has extended its private cloud hosting contract with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider, LeaseWeb. An additional third data center location within LeaseWeb’s network infrastructure is included in the new 3-year contract. This would add to the efficiency, performance, scalability and security of the private cloud platform.
AFAS has been a LeaseWeb customer since 2009 already and has been using a hybrid cloud in recent years consisting of a private cloud and dedicated servers, spread out over multiple data center locations. Due to the rapid growth of AFAS Online, the company required more capacity and a more powerful platform for its end-users.
AFAS will expand its private cloud infrastructure with a third data center location within the LeaseWeb network. This would make the platform more efficient, while optimal performance, security and scalability stays ensured.
Thanks to its hybrid cloud solution, AFAS can make unlimited use of dedicated cloud resources, including cores, RAM and storage. LeaseWeb manages the entire platform – including back-up, disaster recovery and monitoring.
Scaling Capacity

“The adoption of SaaS applications is on the rise,” said Arnold Mars, Financial Director (CFO) of AFAS. “This year Gartner expects a growth of 20.3%. We are also noticing this trend ourselves, with 83% of our customers now using AFAS Online. That’s why it’s important for us to have a stable cloud solution, supplied by a Dutch provider with data centers in the Netherlands. LeaseWeb’s role is crucial. In addition to the fact that their high-quality services and local data centers fulfill our requirements, LeaseWeb also acts as a sparring partner and supports us in scaling capacity in a flexible manner.”
LeaseWeb is one of the world’s largest hosting brands. The company offers a wide variety of hosting solutions including cloud hosting, bare metal servers, CDN services, and more.
“In recent years we invested heavily in our people, procedures and cloud technologies so we could support the most demanding markets,” said Ruud Mous, Managing Director at LeaseWeb Netherlands. “The long-standing relationships with customers such as AFAS, proves that this is the right course of action.”
