KX Insights, a cloud-based, real-time streaming analytics technology operating on Microsoft Azure while available on both AWS and GCP too, has inked a global business agreement with the Alpine F1 team. The deal would enable the Alpine F1 Team to quickly scale-up its real-time decision-making capabilities while implementing an operating model of continuous actionable business intelligence for enhanced performance both on and off the track.
The capacity to make split second judgments based on an analysis of real-time and history data would provide the Alpine F1 team with a significant competitive edge in a sport where winning results are measured in fractions of a second. The deal between the Alpine F1 team and KX Insights builds on an already successful relationship between the two organizations.
Over the last 18 months, KX has become the holistic data science platform of choice for the Alpine F1 team in the field of data analytics. It would help the F1 team identify and respond to issues before they occur.
“KX Insights now puts us in the position where we can fully utilize the capabilities of our cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure,” said Nathan Sykes; IT, Business Systems and Data Science Director, Alpine F1 Team. “We can easily scale up and down as required while adding new data streams with ease. Add this to the powerful pipelines we already have access to in KX tools for ingesting data and visualizing the results in fractions of a second. This will give us access to even more data allowing for even greater insights via analytics as well as taking our models to a greater complexity and accuracy.”
Hybrid Cloud Design

KX Insights offers a single data access point throughout the entire company independent of the system, format or location. The hybrid cloud design would allow quick and scalable data insight in real-time without extra infrastructure burdens, complex updates or the requirement to optimize for various cloud environments.
“The deal for KX Insights reflects the desire of Alpine F1 Team to continue to apply KX’s performance for ingesting and analyzing data,” said Dan Seal, Senior Vice President, KX. “With flexible and affordable access to a high-performance analytics platform, KX Insights transforms operational performance and drives competitive differentiation.”
With KX Insights, the Alpine F1 team may use its selected cloud partner, Microsoft Azure, to further prove its cloud ecosystem and data architecture.
“With billions of data points being captured at the track and at the factory, it is critical to have a cloud infrastructure that is agile and can enable tools such as KX Insights to deliver information in real-time,” said Mike Downey, tech lead for Sports, Microsoft. “Alpine F1 Team’s use of Microsoft Azure is an example of enabling data driven decision making in a sport where every second matters.”
