AMS-IX Extends Scope of Its EasyAccess Service and Announces New 10GE Pricing

AMS-IX, one of the world’s largest Internet Exchanges, has shared that its EasyAccess network has grown to over 400 sites in 14 European countries. Next to that, AMS-IX has announced new 10GE EasyAccess rates beginning at 950 EUR per month from any Easy Access enabled location in Europe.

“We expect that the new locations in combination with the new competitive pricing will be of great appeal to customers”, said Aleksandar Mitrov, Head of Product at AMS-IX.

EasyAccess was introduced in 2018 with the goal of making connecting to AMS-IX as simple as possible for AMS-IX users.

The service combines the cost of the peering port and the cost of transportation into one package.

By employing EasyAccess, users do not have to build a physical network presence any longer at a site with an AMS-IX PoP to connect to AMS-IX. To access the over 885 networks linked to AMS-IX Amsterdam, they “simply” need to be at an EasyAccess site and connect via one of AMS-EasyAccess IX’s transport providers.

“The EasyAccess service is cost-effective for many companies, because in many cases your network is already situated in an EasyAccess enabled datacenter, which means you don’t need to invest in expensive physical equipment or new colocation to connect to AMS-IX,” said Aleksandar Mitrov, Head of Product at AMS-IX. “We expect that the new locations in combination with the new competitive pricing will be of great appeal to customers.”

EasyAccess began with over 25 EasyAccess sites in the Netherlands, but rapidly extended to many more places around Europe. EasyAccess enabled data centers in Oslo and Warsaw are the most recent additions. The extension of the EasyAccess footprint comes soon after the maincubes expansion in Amsterdam.
