Are your 3rd party email client settings correct? | 123-reg

If you are using a 3rd party email client such as Gmail or Outlook but are experiencing problems with sending or receiving emails, you might find this video useful.

One of the reasons you may be unable to send or receive emails is because your incoming and outgoing settings haven’t been set correctly.

Simply go to your account settings menu and check the settings for incoming and outgoing. The settings for incoming should say ‘pop.123-reg.co.uk’ for ‘POP’ users and ‘imap.123-reg.co.uk’ for ‘IMAP’ users. Your incoming port settings should be ‘110’ for ‘POP’ users and ‘143’ for ‘IMAP’ users.

Another common reason for experiencing issues with sending and receiving emails can be your SSL settings. If you have enabled SSL when sending your emails, you will need to check to ensure that the correct port number is set.

For complete steps on how to check your incoming, outgoing and SSL settings and fix the issues you may have with your emails, refer to our support article here: https://www.123-reg.co.uk/support/answers/Video/Email/having-trouble-sending-and-receiving-emails-4110/
