Arrow Electronics Adds Commvault’s Backup & Recovery to Its Portfolio

IT solutions distributor Arrow Electronics (NYSE: ARW) has added Commvault’s Metallic DMaaS (data management-as-a-service) Backup & Recovery capabilities to its ArrowSphere global channel partner platform.

As a worldwide provider of intelligent data services, Commvault delivers its solutions across on-premises, cloud, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environments. Commvault Metallic is a suite of flexible enterprise-grade solutions that deliver data security with the convenience of SaaS.

Commvault Metallic would provide “scalable, cost-effective” data backup & recovery for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid settings, with support for a wide range of applications. Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, VMs, containers, databases, file and object data, and laptops and desktops are all included. Metallic also assists clients in complying with privacy rules, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

“Metallic now joins the growing list of products available through our cloud management platform that allows channel partners to access streamlined quoting and ordering, automated provisioning, and comprehensive billing integration,” said Kristin Russell, global president of Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business.

Last year, Commvault and Microsoft inked a deal that resulted in the integration of Metallic DMaaS go-to-market, engineering, and sales with Azure, resulting in a “robust” security solution with the ease of SaaS administration. Metallic provides extended data retention and security for Microsoft 365 data, as well as coverage across all three Microsoft clouds – Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Azure – with quick recovery in the event of inadvertent loss, corruption, or cyberattacks.

“Arrow has a deep understanding of both Microsoft’s and Commvault’s solution offerings, and the addition of these powerful backup solutions to ArrowSphere will help fast-track customers’ journey to the cloud,” said Kristin Russell, global president of Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business. “Metallic now joins the growing list of products available through our cloud management platform that allows channel partners to access streamlined quoting and ordering, automated provisioning, and comprehensive billing integration.”
