Atos Unveils Innovative Edge to Cloud 5G and AI-enabled Solution

Atos has launched ‘Atos Business Outcomes-as-a-Service’ (Atos BOaaS), a 5G, edge, and IoT offering developed in collaboration with Dell Technologies. It would bring the benefits of cloud architecture to the edge and far edge to deliver AI-based business value augmented with end-to-end automated deployment, monitoring, and management.

According to Atos, edge computing has increased the complexity of digital systems while the Internet of Things (IoT) creates large volumes of valuable data that is currently untapped. Atos BOaaS would enable enterprises to gain significant, quick, and repeatable business outcomes from IoT data streams and analytics, as well as manage their IoT ecosystem from a single dashboard, by combining the expertise of Atos and Dell Technologies.

Powered by Dell, Atos BOaaS would bring to market one of the most advanced AI applications at the edge. Dell’s Streaming Data Platform enables analytics by creating “reliable, quick, and secured” data pipelines from edge to cloud. To enable clients to focus on the business benefits of analytics at the edge and in the cloud, Atos bundles all of the technological components with additional services into a comprehensive consumption model.

“As companies digitally transform and applications and infrastructure are increasingly being deployed in the real world, the need for real-time experiences and automation are driving the decentralization of IT,” said Gil Shneorson, senior vice president of edge solutions, Dell Technologies. “Dell’s broad foundation of edge technologies and services, combined with partner solutions such as Atos Outcomes-as-a-Service, help businesses quickly and securely realize the full potential of their data from edge to the cloud to deliver better business outcomes.”

“Dell’s broad foundation of edge technologies and services, combined with partner solutions such as Atos Outcomes-as-a-Service, help businesses quickly and securely realize the full potential of their data from edge to the cloud,” said Gil Shneorson, SVP of Edge Solutions, Dell Technologies.

Atos BOaaS can identify imminent equipment failure at the far edge and at the edge, triggering a range of automatic steps ranging from buying new hardware to informing the maintenance personnel to handling the delivery and configuration of the edge to cloud platform. By delivering a fully automated and controlled cloud environment at the edge, at scale, Atos BOaaS would enhance asset utilization in retail, theme parks, and industrial industries.

Atos BOaaS is a zero-touch deployment paradigm, which means that settings, configurations, and applications are delivered on devices automatically and securely. Client technology teams may now remotely setup or change thousands of devices at the edge from the cloud. Atos BOaaS has an App Market that enables clients to deploy complicated analytics and apps at the edge, such as predictive maintenance to save downtime or basic temperature and vibration monitoring.

Clients may use the Atos BOaaS App Market to conduct AI and scenario-based analytics on their existing video surveillance equipment using the Atos Computer Vision platform.

Atos BOaaS would simplify complicated digital operations to the point that, for example, inexperienced retail workers may conduct on-site operations with the help of Atos BOaaS’ automation. Applications are immediately delivered and business activities are launched or continued after they have installed the new device, which according to Atos is as simple as plugging in a light.

Atos BOaaS combines breakthrough technologies that re-imagine the process of running digital operations at the edge and far edge as much as smartphones revolutionized mobile communications,” said Dave Seybold, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Atos Americas. “Together, we unlock 5G potential securely, cost-effectively and with zero-touch, modernizing enterprise applications to be agile, mobile and rooted in analytics, while reducing customers’ costs and carbon footprint.”
