Customers in the Midwest planning to build hybrid cloud deployments with Amazon’s Web Services (AWS) cloud just found an easier route to do so via Cologix’s data center in Columbus, Ohio. With AWS Direct Connect now available at the Cologix data center in Columbus, customers can connect their infrastructure via a secured and private connection to the AWS Cloud.
The Columbus deployment of AWS Direct Connect with Cologix would provide customers low-latency access to AWS US East 2 region. The node will reside at Cologix’s Columbus data center campus, where more than 50 network service providers are available in the Meet-Me-Room (MMR). The connectivity at this location provides for direct end user connections and a broad set of potential AWS Partner Network (APN Partners), who can bring secured connections from endpoints throughout the region to the AWS Direct Connect onramp.
“The AWS Cloud node is another proof point cementing Columbus as a vital interconnect market,” said Grant van Rooyen, president and CEO of Cologix. “Accessing the lowest latency option to AWS through our data center is a significant advantage for customers and with our new data center coming on line soon we look forward to supporting the local demand.”
Cologix recently announced a new 160K square feet, 18+MW enterprise-grade data center build on its 8-acre campus. The new $130M+ facility will become one of the largest and most advanced colocation data centers in the Columbus, Ohio region and will be directly linked to Cologix‘s existing data centers.
