AWS Storage Gateway Hardware Appliance To Be Distributed by TD SYNNEX

A physical, independent, validated server configuration for on-premises deployments, the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Storage Gateway Hardware Appliance will be made available by TD SYNNEX. The AWS Storage Gateway Hardware Appliance is being offered globally by TD SYNNEX, which also offers deployment, integration, and migration services to transfer customer data from on-premises storage to the cloud.

TD SYNNEX is making the AWS Storage Gateway Hardware Appliance solution available through its wide partner network. Through their preferred IT channel partner, clients can purchase the AWS Storage Gateway Hardware Appliance and related services under this international distribution agreement. Customers can also combine the hardware appliance with TD SYNNEX Global Lifecycle Management (GLM) services, which would streamline and simplify business operations and processes.

Mike Ward, VP of Cloud Solutions at TD SYNNEX
“TD SYNNEX’s hardware and solutions services make us uniquely positioned to work with AWS and take this solution to market across the IT ecosystem,” said Mike Ward, VP of Cloud Solutions at TD SYNNEX.

According to TD SYNNEX, branch offices, workgroups in an R&D department, and lab or industrial sites would frequently do not have the on-premises infrastructure necessary to run virtual machine appliances, hypervisors, server clusters, and networked storage systems. Building and administering this infrastructure or delaying starting work or scaling operations until a subsequent budgeting cycle may not be practical or in the organization’s best interests.

“As a leading global distributor and solutions aggregator, TD SYNNEX’s hardware and solutions services make us uniquely positioned to work with AWS and take this solution to market across the IT ecosystem,” said Mike Ward, Vice President of Cloud Solutions at TD SYNNEX. “This will soon be in our marketplace as a Click-to-Run offering which creates new opportunities for our partners to accelerate business growth across data, analytics, IoT, and security technologies, and are foundational to cloud success. We’re excited that this development provides a one stop shop for customers and a solution that is only available through the channel.”

AWS Storage Gateway Software

Organizations with on-premises environments can “easily” set up an AWS Storage Gateway Hardware Appliance, giving local applications access to nearly infinite cloud storage for a range of use cases. It has AWS Storage Gateway software pre-installed which includes the necessary CPU, memory, network, and solid state drive (SSD) cache resources for setting up a file gateway, volume gateway, or tape gateway.

The goal of the AWS Storage Gateway Hardware Appliance is to offer clients a straightforward experience right out of the box that does not require any additional infrastructure and supports common storage protocols.

“Customers of all types are making the journey to the cloud for cost, performance, security and compliance reasons,” said Mark Cree, General Manager of AWS Storage Gateway at AWS. “Our agreement with TD SYNNEX gives customers everywhere a robust hybrid cloud storage solution that they can seamlessly integrate with existing and new on-premises applications. We are excited to make hybrid architecture easier for customers to purchase from their preferred partner.”
