Backbone Connect, a UK based colocation and network provider, has partnered with cloud management software provider Virtustream to deliver a range of pay-only-for-what-you-consume cloud hosting services from within UK data centers.
The cloud hosting packages for UK’s small and mid-sized market combine Backbone Connect’s network platform and data center services with Virtustream’s enterprise-grade Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform, bringing companies an integrated range of cloud hosting and connectivity services.
“Backbone Connect’s partnership with Virtustream has been built on the shared goal of delivering more flexibility to our clients,” said David McLeod, Founding Director of Backbone Connect. “The Virtustream platform enables us to offer enterprise grade, secure cloud hosting services as part of our integrated infrastructure platform, to our clients in the small and mid-sized business market.”
Virtustream’s xStream cloud management software leverages the company’s µVM (micro-VM) technology to deliver enterprise-ready, secure cloud environments for mission critical and production applications. With xStream, organizations would be able to reap the benefits of performance level SLAs, increased security and compliance, and a consumption-based pricing model that charges only for resources consumed.
Set up in 2008, Backbone Connect is based in London and was recognized in 2013 as the 10th fastest growing technology company in the UK and the 86th fastest growing technology companies in EMEA as ranked by Deloitte Fast50 and Fast500.
