Backing Up Your Website Files Manually

IMPORTANT: If you are backing up a WordPress site (or another CMS built site) that also uses a database, you will also need to backup your database as well – this guide just covers the site files!

Full backup command : tar -czvf [ARCHIVE NAME] [FILE PATH]

Unzip command: tar -xf [ARCHIVE NAME] (For the above unzip command, be sure to include “.tar.gz” in the name!)
