Barracuda Amplifies MSP Focus, Unveils New Brand: Barracuda MSP

Barracuda (NYSE: CUDA) has announced the next step in the evolution of its MSP business unit, formerly known as Intronis and now rebranded as Barracuda MSP.

“Since our acquisition of Intronis, we have expanded our commitment to the managed services marketplace through international growth, new offerings, and partner support models,” said Brian Babineau, SVP and GM of Barracuda MSP. “Our name change combines one of the best mid-market global IT brands with our steadfast focus on the rapidly evolving MSP landscape.”

barracuda networksOver the past two years, Barracuda‘s MSP business has increased billings, expanded the partner base by 25 percent, and entered the European market. In addition, the business has added data protection solutions; e-mail security, archiving, and backup for Office 365 environments; and “next-generation” firewalls to its MSP solution-set.

Under its new name, Barracuda MSP remains focused on helping managed service providers (MSPs) protect their customers from data loss and IT security breaches. To complement its support, the organization is introducing two new education initiatives designed to help IT channel providers find managed services success:

  • com – A global destination website to help MSPs improve their business and stay current with IT channel industry trends
  • Ready, Set, Managed! – An exclusive, interactive educational and networking program for VARs and MSPs to learn best practices for successfully growing their managed services operations

Barracuda MSP recently released the latest version of ECHOplatform, its purpose-built MSP platform that would simplify partner service operations. Barracuda MSP‘s ECHOplatform is available to partners who purchase any MSP solution.

In the new version of ECHOplatform, partners would be enabled to easily provision and activate Barracuda Backup appliances; Essentials for Office 365; and Email Security products – all from within a single, MSP-focused interface. Partners can view products by customer account, enabling them to “easily” see what services are being delivered, what the costs are, and where there might be service gaps that could lead to new business opportunities. Partners using the ECHOplatform would also now enjoy the convenience of single sign-on with Barracuda Cloud Control to administer all their Barracuda solutions.
