Barracuda Networks has launched its Cloud Application Protection (CAP) platform, Barracuda CAP, in response to increasing threats to web applications. Barracuda CAP would offer complete web application security including a new Web Application Firewall (WAF) as-a-Service. Barracuda‘s WAF-as-a-Service solution is based on Microsoft Azure and is available in the Azure Marketplace.
A low percentage of cloud applications worldwide are currently protected by a web application firewall, according to Barracuda Networks. This would be caused by the complexity and manpower required to manage web application firewalls.
Part of the Barracuda CAP platform, Barracuda’s new WAF-as-a-Service offers extensive functionality yet would be easy to deploy and manage. In addition to this WAF as-a-service solution, the CAP platform also offers the ability to scan and restore applications for vulnerabilities, advanced protection against bots, DDoS protection, API security, et cetera.

Microsoft Azure
Barracuda’s WAF-as-a-Service solution uses Microsoft Azure for global availability and “easy” deployment in all 54 Azure regions. Barracuda WAF-as-a-Service offers all the settings and customization options that come with the regular Barracuda WAF solution. The new WAF solution can be rolled out as-a-service instead from the Azure Marketplace with just a few clicks. All of the organization’s web applications would then be protected within minutes.
