“In the following round we are planning international fund raising, which we plan to reach in the next 1 or 2 years,” said George Egri, CEO and founder of BitNinja.

After being founded in 2014, BitNinja’s initial funding came from cybersecurity veterans and cloud entrepreneurs who invested €500,000. The latest round of $2.5 million in Series A funding was led by Lead Ventures. A Hungarian-American company, iEurope and another Hungarian investor, Oxo Technologies Holding, also joined this Series A round. BitNinja will use that funding to improve their existing ServerProtection SaaS tool and by developing new cybersecurity products.

BitNinja ServerProtection aims to give the ultimate protection against WordPress, Joomla and Drupal infections for hosted websites. It would provide an “easy-to-use” all-in-one SaaS cybersecurity tool, protecting more than 20,000 servers worldwide and defending against 10+ million attacks daily.
