Maxihost, a global provider of on-demand bare metal cloud solutions headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, has partnered with KIO Networks to launch a new Point-of-Presence (PoP) for its bare metal cloud platform in Mexico City. KIO Networks operates 40 “state-of-the-art” data centers and has a presence in Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Spain.
Maxihost’s Latin American footprint now includes a third site, following Brazil and Chile. Maxihost’s offerings are aimed at clients worldwide looking for bare metal cloud servers that can be provided instantaneously. These bare metal servers would support a variety of use cases, including gaming, streaming, VPNs, and other low-latency, high-bandwidth applications.
After Brazil, Mexico has the second-largest economy in Latin America, with a population of almost 130 million people. The metropolitan region of Mexico City alone has a population of about 21 million people. The Mexican market is quickly becoming a key interconnectivity and digital center, says Maxihost, thanks to the current acceleration of digital transformation.
Maxihost’s new PoP is located in KIO’s MEX|5 Data Center, which is one of Mexico’s most major interconnection hubs. The facility is centrally located in Mexico City and would provide high levels of availability, redundancy, and security, as well as connectivity to a variety of local and international networks.
Bare Metal Cloud Offering Worldwide
“We are thrilled to team up with KIO Networks to bring our Bare Metal Cloud platform to Mexico,” said Guilherme Soubihe Alberto, CEO of Maxihost. “We are launching our new location with more than twenty international customers, most of whom are currently reaching end users in Mexico and Central America from Dallas, Texas. Having servers so much closer to targeted users and access to KIO’s low-latency networks in the region will enable an enhanced customer experience – whether that is for gaming, streaming, or other high-bandwidth applications.”
Maxihost sees the expansion of its footprint into Mexico as part of a larger worldwide effort to spread the benefits of its Bare Metal Cloud to a wider audience. This year, the company plans to expand geographically even more, with new facilities in Europe and Asia to complement the firm’s existing presence in Latin America, the United States, Australia, and Japan.
“We are very excited to welcome Maxihost to the KIO ecosystem,” said Santiago Suinaga, Managing Director of KIO Data Center Services. “Maxihost offers an impressive range of bare metal servers that are unrivaled in Mexico City, including purpose-built machines that are optimized for particular workloads including energy-efficient, high-performance ARM-based servers. Our many existing and future clients will benefit by being able to instantly deploy these powerful bare metal offerings using Maxihost’s easy-to-use cloud platform.”
