The City of Brisbane, Australia, has hired the world’s second Chief Digital Officer to plan and roll out a Smart City digital framework that takes advantage of Internet of Everything solutions and applications for its citizens and businesses. In addition to a wide vision encompassing retail, transportation and other urban services, citizens now can talk directly to city staff about myriad issues, forms and taxes at a shopping center from a real-time, two-way video pod called a Remote Expert Government Service (REGS).
