BT and multicloud technology solutions provider Rackspace have signed a cooperation agreement to improve the cloud services of BT’s worldwide client. According to the terms of the deal, BT hybrid cloud services will be built on Rackspace Technology’s cloud solutions, which will be installed in BT’s data centers alongside its Rackspace Fabric management layer.
BT Group is a major telecommunications and network provider in the United Kingdom, as well as a leading supplier of worldwide communications services and solutions, with clients in 180 countries.
“This innovative partnership with Rackspace Technology accelerates our plans to build a world-class hybrid cloud portfolio,” said Bas Burger, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at BT’s Global unit. “It will deliver outstanding experiences for our customers and ensure they benefit from the best services, backed by our partner’s leadership in cloud.”

Customers would be able to benefit from the combination of Rackspace Technology’s cloud management experience and automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions with BT’s network and security capabilities. This would help improve the client experience and allow BT to continue to grow its managed cloud offerings.
Hybrid Cloud Model
BT’s primary businesses in the UK include the provision of fixed phone, mobile, Internet, and TV (including Sport), as well as a variety of products and services to consumer, commercial, and public sector users via integrated fixed and mobile networks. BT provides managed services, security, and network and IT infrastructure services to its worldwide clients to support business operations all over the world.

The firms have also agreed to expand their collaboration in the future in order to build new combined cloud products for their clients.
