C Spire Acquires Another Fiber Broadband Network Company in Alabama

C Spire has completed its acquisition of Troy Cablevision which includes Union Springs Telephone Company. C Spire will be able to address the rising demand for broadband connectivity and other information technology services in Alabama’s Wiregrass after finalizing the deal and gaining the required regulatory clearances.

Founded in 1985, Troy Cablevision, Inc. provides cable TV, Internet, fiber broadband, and other services to business and residential customers in Pike, Coffee, Crenshaw, and Dale counties. The company is headquartered in Troy and operates regional offices in Elba, Enterprise, Luverne and Ozark. Financial terms of the fiber broadband network acquisition were not disclosed.

“We’ve made it a major priority to invest in and expand fiber-based network deployment and enhancements throughout Alabama, and we’re pleased to be providing these services in the Wiregrass,” said Hu Meena, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at C Spire. “Our commitment to local customers remains, and we intend to offer the same level of hometown service Troy Cablevision has been known to provide.”

Investing $500 Million

“I am thrilled to welcome our Troy Cablevision and Union Springs Telephone Company associates to C Spire,” added Hu Meena. “I know we all share the simple goal of working together and serving our customers and our local community”

C Spire said earlier this year that it will invest $500 million over the next three years to speed up the development of fiber broadband Internet in Alabama cities. C Spire has built and is now providing fiber services in thirteen Alabama areas.
