Terago Networks, a national broadband services and colocation provider to businesses in Canada, has expanded its data center business in Western Canada through the acquisition of a 7,000 square foot data center facility in downtown Vancouver, B.C.
The acquisition of the Vancouver data center will provide TeraGo with the capability to service the colocation and disaster recovery needs of businesses through the BC Lower Mainland.
TeraGo Networks acquired Data Centers Canada (DCC) in May 2013 as a part of its strategic initiative to offer complementary services to business and enterprise customers. The DCC colocation facility in Vaughan, ON is 16,000 square feet and provides data center solutions to businesses, enterprises, public sector, and technology service providers. The Vancouver facility will operate under the Data Centers Canada brand.
“TeraGo’s strategy is to build and strengthen our position as a leader in data center services as a complement to our broadband services; expanding our data center presence in Western Canada represents another significant step toward this objective,” said Stewart Lyons, CEO and President of TeraGo Networks. “We are experiencing strong demand for data center services, and this acquisition will assist us in meeting customer requirements in British Columbia.”
