Web hosting and cloud hosting services provider Canadian Web Hosting has announced the pre-production release of their new Canada-based enterprise public cloud, AURO. Compatible with AWS and GCE, AURO offers full API controls and is SSAE 16 compliant with an infrastructure that is 100% Canadian.
Canadian Web Hosting has spent the last year and a half working with leading industry vendors including Cloudscaling, Juniper, Nimble Storage, and several others to design this enterprise public cloud offering.
The public cloud hosting platform would offer true high availability, infrastructure redundancy, massively scalable compute, networking and storage services, and comprehensive compliance services including SSAE 16 Type II SOC 2 certification.
Vendor Lock-In
Canadian Web Hosting has also begun adding several new availability zones in Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto to give their customers local access to their users and allow them to meet strict privacy requirements.
With the upgrade to Icehouse, Canadian Web Hosting will also provide Tiered Cloud Storage solutions to allow customers to meet a broader range of use cases for public storage. By using OpenStack and removing the typical vendor lock-in, customers can move and share their workloads seamlessly across public and private clouds and federating their workloads.
Since 1998, Canadian Web Hosting has been providing on-demand hosting solutions that also include shared hosting, virtual private servers (VPS), cloud hosting, dedicated servers, and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for Canadian companies of all sizes.
