NATO’s Seasparrow program began 44 years ago when four countries – Denmark, Italy, Norway and the United States – signed a historic memorandum of understanding to form a state-of-the-art naval missile defense system. The program has since grown to a global initiative that includes 12 member nations.

For the contract, the Seasparrow program desired a new hybrid cloud environment that could support Microsoft applications, continuity of operations, overcome the limitations of a physical environment, and enable the development and deployment new and enhanced platforms and services.

Carpathia’s IBX Vault

Carpathia worked with Accelera Solutions to develop a hybrid cloud solution based on Accelera’s Secure Optimized Cloud architecture, a private cloud built to FISMA NIST 800-53 Moderate controls for security and data protection. Taking the burden off of the program office, Carpathia and its IBX Vault were chosen to support all of the infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), network, and systems management functions including facilities, hardware, bandwidth, network management, and back-up management.

“Carpathia’s government and technology expertise played a critical role in the Accelera team winning the Seasparrow award,” said Joe Brown, President of Accelera Solutions. “From start to finish, Carpathia was a true partner in the process, enabling us to deliver NATO the best overall combination of quality, value, and technical capability to help them deliver on their mission objectives.”
