Check Point Launches New Firewall Solutions

“AI, 5G and the proliferation of smart devices are just some of the trends propelling enormous growth in data center traffic and creating new cybersecurity challenges for enterprise,” said Michael Kagan, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at NVIDIA.

Check Point Software, a global cybersecurity solutions supplier, has expanded its Check Point Quantum range with Quantum Lightspeed Firewalls. This new firewall product range by Check Pont would enable every enterprise to establish ‘hyper-fast’ data center security levels.

The contemporary data center is fast transitioning to a hybrid design, with both on-premises and cloud operations, due to the advent of distributed SaaS applications and the need to better accommodate remote employees, stated Check Point. Enterprises of all sizes would be challenged to offer hyper-fast data center security at the pace of the network, with network traffic rising 2 times every three years, according to the cyber security solutions vendor.

“As more enterprises rely on their hybrid data centers to conduct business transactions, they need to implement a solution with network security speed,” said Dr. Dorit Dor, Chief Product Officer at Check Point.

Check Point Quantum Lightspeed uses NVIDIA’s revolutionary ASIC technology to provide the highest firewall performance that enables organizations to accommodate elephant flows while safely transmitting terabytes of data in minutes rather than hours. Financial institutions may now safely execute millions of high-frequency trades with microsecond latency, according to Check Point, and any company can give quick access to remote users and assist high-growth companies.

“Enterprises that have distributed hybrid data centers and applications need data center security that performs at the speed of their business, needing to securely accelerate data transfers between applications, other data centers, and backups to the hybrid cloud,” said Frank Dickson, VP of Security and Trust at IDC. “Check Point Quantum Lightspeed hyper-fast firewalls deliver data center security performance at the speed of the network, enabling enterprises to transfer hundreds of terabytes of data in minutes instead of hours, provide low latency for high frequency financial transactions, while also scaling security on demand to support high growth businesses like online commerce.”

For Demanding Data Centers

“As more enterprises rely on their hybrid data centers to conduct business transactions, they need to implement a solution with network security speed,” said Dr. Dorit Dor, Chief Product Officer at Check Point. “Our goal was to design a solution that would work in the most demanding data centers which require high security throughput, low latency and can expand on demand to support rapid growth. Check Point Quantum Lightspeed hyper-fast firewalls deliver line-rate firewall performance at the speed of the network, setting a new standard in cybersecurity performance.”

The new Quantum Lightspeed firewall offering would bring greatly enhanced firewall performance and hyper-fast data center security for every enterprise with the following performance specs:

  • 5 times better firewall throughput – Up to 3 Tbps per system / 800 Gbps per single gateway
  • 10 times faster – Ultra-low latency at 3 microseconds
  • 20 times better price performance than competing solutions

“AI, 5G and the proliferation of smart devices are just some of the trends propelling enormous growth in data center traffic and creating new cybersecurity challenges for enterprise,” said Michael Kagan, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at NVIDIA. “NVIDIA turbocharges zero-trust security in the data center and enables innovators such as Check Point to develop next-generation solutions like the Check Point Quantum Lightspeed security gateway, powered by the extreme performance of the NVIDIA ConnectX SmartNIC.”
