Cirrus Hosting, a provider of web hosting services in Canada since 1999, has announced that the Parallels Plesk 12 web hosting control panel will be available on all VPS hosting plans, including both Windows and Linux VPS’s.
The upgrade to Plesk 12 includes numerous new features and enhancements aimed at improving web hosting workflows for server administrators, clients, and resellers.
Plesk 12 introduces WordPress Toolkit, which provides a single point of entry for managing multiple WordPress installations, including the ability to easily add and remove WordPress installations, and manage, activate, and deactivate plugins and themes.
WordPress Toolkit works with both APS and non-APS WordPress installations. Additionally, Plesk 12 brings several WordPress security enhancements, including security checking and application of WordPress security best practices with rollback functionality.
Cirrus Hosting provides a comprehensive range of VPS Hosting solutions that offer full root access, instant provisioning, hardware independence with failover and fully redundant infrastructure, and one-click installation of hundreds of applications. All Cirrus Hosting VPS Hosting plans are based in Canada and hosted in Cirrus Hosting’s three Toronto-area data center locations.
“Plesk 12 is a welcome update, offering a range of exciting new features that further enhance our virtual private server hosting plans,” said Cirrus President and CEO Ali Mirdamadi. “Many of our clients host multiple WordPress sites, and the addition of WordPress Toolkit to Plesk will increase the efficiency of WordPress hosting and management workflows for administrators, resellers, and clients alike.”
Other usability highlights brought to Cirrus Hosting VPS Hosting plans by Parallels Plesk 12 include significant improvements to account management functionality, the addition of mobile-friendly responsive design in the client and administrator interface, and enhanced multi-language support.
WordPress hosting isn’t the only area where security has been beefed up; spam protection now includes the ability to switch off mail from individual domains, protection from outgoing spam, and Dovecot mail server support with server-based email filtering. Plesk 12 also includes new support for the Fail2ban intrusion detection and IP banning system and the ModSecurity Web Application firewall.
