Cloud Hosting Company Green House Data Acquires FiberCloud

Green House Data, a cloud hosting and colocation services provider with highly energy efficient, green data centers located across the U.S., has announced the acquisition of FiberCloud – a Seattle-based cloud hosting infrastructure provider with three data center locations throughout western Washington and a “robust” portfolio of hosted products.

FiberCloud was founded in 2001 as Lightstream Datacenters, a wholly owned subsidiary of Whidbey Telecom, a telco based on Whidbey Island, Washington whose roots stretch back to 1908.

“From a technology perspective, colocation space in the Westin Building Exchange is ideal,” said Cortney Thompson, chief technology officer (CTO), Green House Data. “With over 250 carriers, service, and content providers and over 39,000 cross connects, this is the premier facility in Seattle. Paired with Green House Data’s nationwide cloud, customers will have unparalleled access to infrastructure resources for their critical workloads.”

FiberCloud’s exclusive financial advisor in this transaction was Media Venture Partners (MVP), an investment banking firm serving companies in the technology, communications, media, and renewable energy sectors; comprehensive services include merger and acquisition advisory, debt and equity financing, and restructuring advisory.

With data center facilities and cloud installations in Cheyenne, Wyo.; Portland, Ore.; Piscataway, N.J.; Orangeburg, N.Y.; and now Seattle, Everett, and Bellingham, Wash., Green House Data is positioned to handle new, legacy, and location-based workloads, and offer disaster recovery services anywhere in North America.
