Latisys, a provider of hybrid cloud hosting and data center solutions, has commissioned 24,400 square feet of new high-density raised floor at its Oak Brook, Illinois data center campus – 18 miles west of downtown Chicago. The new build-out creates DC-06 at its Chicago campus, which has a total of 148,000 gross square feet.
DC-06 is tied directly to 10 fiber carriers in the building and is monitored 24x7x365 by on-site network operations center teams and building management systems.
Latisys‘ Oak Brook data center campus serves as the Midwest hub of Latisys’ unified international platform of high-density data centers – which includes Denver as an ideal Disaster Recovery site, along with Southern California and Northern Virginia data centers as gateways to Asia Pacific, Europe and South America.
“Chicago’s western suburbs continue to gain in popularity as the primary alternative for Chicago enterprises looking for new capacity and the ability to extend their infrastructure nationally and internationally,” said Doug Butler, CFO of Latisys. “Our expanded Chicago data center and unified platform is purpose built to deliver secure, scalable – and highly flexible – IT infrastructure solutions for organizations seeking both high performance and business value.”
The cloud hosting company recently expanded to the UK, deploying its Cloud-Enabled Systems Infrastructure (CESI) platform in London. Latisys’ CESI platform delivers a hybrid suite of cloud hosting and infrastructure services that includes data center colocation, managed hosting & private cloud, managed storage, server virtualization, backup, replication and security services.
