NaviSite, a U.S. provider of cloud hosting, managed applications and managed services, part of Time Warner Cable, has announced the opening of a new enterprise-grade data center located in Santa Clara, California. The new data center will enable NaviSite to meet growing demands for its cloud hosting and managed services.
This facility, which is owned by data center solution provider Digital Realty, will join NaviSite’s fabric of nine existing data centers across the US and UK, all of which are designed to provide a resilient, secure, high-performance environment for business applications and mission critical data.
The new data center will support NaviSite’s full portfolio of services across colocation, cloud-enabled managed hosting, and application management, and also host NaviSite’s cloud platform. The 3.6MW data center facility is structured into three secure, standalone data halls, each designed to run independently and equipped with its own dedicated power and cooling, and multiple levels of redundancy across all the critical infrastructure components, including power and cooling.
“NaviSite has maintained a strong presence on the West Coast for more than a decade with our San Jose data center,” said Sumeet Sabharwal, General Manager, NaviSite. “The Silicon Valley area is a hot-bed for innovation and the development of the new Santa Clara facility is aimed at enabling the growing demand for our portfolio of cloud-enabled enterprise hosting solutions. In addition, the data center will provide dedicated access to TWC’s state-of-the-art network backbone, enabling our customers with a comprehensive portfolio of both cloud and network services.”
Joint Sales Alliance
“The Santa Clara facility incorporates the latest data center technology for efficient operations,” said Digital Realty Sales Director Chris Coleman. “We were delighted to work with NaviSite on this project, which is their third data center site with us. We worked closely to ensure the Santa Clara site meets their strict operational, design, and security standards. The facility undergoes a stringent SOC2 audit on a yearly basis to ensure processes and procedures meet Digital Realty and industry standards.”
In addition, NaviSite and Digital Realty have also formalized a joint sales alliance, thereby enabling Digital Realty customers to benefit from NaviSite’s suite of cloud services located in Digital Realty facilities.
