Colt Expands Capabilities Dedicated Access to Azure at Interxion Data Center Amsterdam

As a Microsoft ExpressRoute Service Provider, Colt has planned for expanded capabilities of its redundantly deployed dedicated access to Azure at Interxion’s ‘Amsterdam2’ data center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Microsoft Azure ‘Amsterdam2′ Point-of-Presence in the Interxion data center is one of the two PoPs that Microsoft has established in the Netherlands to support companies in the region.

“At Colt, we understand the key business trends facing companies, in this case SAP migrations, and are well positioned to help them meet this challenge,” said Peter Coppens, VP Product at Colt.

Organizations planning to transport large volumes of data as well as organizations using hybrid cloud architectures might benefit from these expanded capabilities and connect to the Interxion-hosted ExpressRoute node via Colt’s DCA On Demand connectivity solution.

The expansion of Colt’s ExpressRoute capabilities would benefit SAP customers who migrate their on-premises environments to the cloud. It would also add an additional Azure PoP to Colt’s Dedicated Cloud Access (DCA) On Demand connectivity propositions.

Colt’s DCA On Demand service offers a consumption-based end-to-end solution. The solution is delivered via the Colt IQ Network under a uniform SLA agreement. The service would enable customers to flexibly meet their bandwidth needs through a consumption-based pricing model.

On-Premises Database Platforms

SAP has announced that it will no longer support current on-premises database platforms by 2025, indicating that customers should migrate to an SAP S/4HANA environment. This could be quite a challenge for today’s customers, as quite a few of them would still work from an on-premises data center environment.

“In the five years that Colt has been an Azure partner, we have built up a very close partnership with Microsoft,” said Peter Coppens, VP Product at Colt. “At Colt, we understand the key business trends facing companies, in this case SAP migrations, and are well positioned to help them meet this challenge”.
