Interxion, a provider of carrier and cloud-neutral colocation data center services in Europe, has announced that customers can now access Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute at its Amsterdam facility. This provides Interxion’s customers with secured private network connections to Microsoft Azure.
Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute is now available to all customers located at Interxion’s Amsterdam campus, via Interxion’s Cloud Connect service. Cloud Connect is a cloud access service allowing Interxion’s customers to build and manage private, “high-performance and security-enhanced” connections to multiple clouds through a single connection. It’s a highly scalable way to create hybrid, multi-cloud IT environments and to move business critical workloads and latency sensitive applications to the public cloud.
“As adoption of hybrid cloud increases so does the need for low latency, high performance and security-enhanced connections to the key cloud providers,” said Vincent in ’t Veld, Director of Cloud segment, Interxion. “The addition of Microsoft Azure at our Amsterdam Campus fulfills this need and represents a major milestone in our strategy to provide customers with low latency access to the leading cloud platforms.”
Interxion serves a wide range of customers through its 40 data centers in 11 European countries. With over 500 connectivity providers, 20 European Internet exchanges, and leading cloud and digital media platforms across its footprint, Interxion has created connectivity, cloud, content and finance hubs that would foster growing customer communities of interest.
“Interxion is one of the most established data center providers in the Netherlands,” said Ross Ortega, Principle Product Manager, Networking, Microsoft Azure. “This collaboration provides our joint customers new options to benefit from the efficiencies of hybrid cloud.”
