“The future of storage is software-defined,” said Christof Zihlmann, CEO of Q-5 AG. “This leads to more flexible and more affordable solutions without being locked-in with one specific hardware vendor. Swiss customers in any industry are looking at new ways to manage the massive data growth and the same time increasing SLAs requested by the business. We believe that the ElastiStor product from CloudByte. is not just a very powerful solution, but it offers a new level of flexibility and efficiency in the storage space as today’s VMware is offering in the server virtualization space.”

Established in 2011 and managed by technology executives from companies such as NetApp, EMC, LSI, and Novell, CloudByte is headquartered in the Silicon Valley and has a development center in India. CloudByte is venture-backed by Fidelity Worldwide Investment, Nexus Venture Partners, and Kae Capital.
