North Texas-based Colocation Data Center, Carrier-1, Launches Cloud Connect

Carrier-1 Data Centers, one of the largest colocation data center facilities in North Texas, has announced the launch of its Carrier-1 Cloud Connect service. The new service offers data center clients direct connectivity to leading cloud providers including Amazon Web Services (AWS Cloud), Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean, Bluejeans, HP Helion, IBM Softlayer and others via Equinix Cloud Exchange and Level3’s Cloud Connect Platform.

With the new network offering, Carrier-1 Data Centers expands it’s capability beyond traditional colocation by meeting the data center needs of customers with any size IT deployment, including big data, e-commerce, storage, backup, business continuity or high-density compute environments.

cloud-connectCarrier-1 Cloud Connect enables colocation clients who are utilizing cloud solutions a way to easily receive secured, private connections to a hub of public clouds. Alternatively, enterprises who prefer a cloud solution, but require a hybrid colocation solution, would now be able to easily incorporate their private infrastructure within the Carrier-1 data center while not sacrificing any computing efficiencies.

“Our customers require a private and secure way to connect their critical applications to the cloud,” said Carrier-1’s CEO, Peter Pathos. “We facilitate this by providing a reliable and simple way to bypass the Internet via security-enhanced connections to multiple clouds through a single connection.”

Carrier-1 owns and operates a 106,866 square foot data center building in Dallas, Texas. Customers may lease colocation space within the building to utilize the redundant infrastructure and environment controls while receiving access to over 95 network carriers. The facility meets any compliant requirement including PCI, HIPAA and SOX.
