Smart Storage Provider Tintri Debuts VM-Level Data Management and Multi-Hypervisor Support

Tintri, a provider of application-aware storage for virtualization and cloud hosting environments, has announced “Tintri for Hyper-V”, a storage solution with VM-level data management support for multi-hypervisor platforms.

cloud-storage-tintriWith native Microsoft Server Message Block (SMB) 3.0 implementation purpose built for supporting Hyper-V and FlashFirst design, the new Tintri storage solution is optimized for running enterprise applications on Hyper-V.

Through native integration with Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) and Hyper-V Manager, Tintri offers VM-level visibility and control, which would provide Microsoft customers a simplified experience to virtualize Microsoft enterprise applications and desktops and accelerate private cloud deployments.

Tintri for Hyper-V would enable customers to:

  • Set-up in less than ten minutes. Administrators manage virtual machines and vDisks instead of LUNs and volumes – eliminating any complex configuration or ongoing tuning.
  • Seamlessly scale virtualized environments from tens of VMs to thousands of VMs without additional storage provisioning.
  • Instantly identify performance hot spots at the hypervisor, network and storage levels with comprehensive end-to-end performance and bottleneck visualization at each layer.
  • Protect individual VMs with customizable policies with space and performance efficient snapshots.
  • Create hundreds of high performance, zero-space VM clones for speeding up VM provisioning for VDI and development and test workloads.
  • Deploy affordable per-VM data protection and disaster recovery with WAN-efficient replication, significantly reducing WAN bandwidth usage with global deduplication and compression.

Tintri, headquartered in Mountain View, California, powers hundreds of thousands of virtual machines running business critical databases, enterprise apps, desktops and mobile apps, and private cloud deployments. Tintri helps global enterprises such as AMD, F5 Networks, GE, NEC, NTT, MillerCoors and Time Warner maximize their virtualization and cloud investments.
