Sprint, a U.S. telecommunications company and ISP, has announced the launch of Sprint Secure Web – an ‘as-a-service’ cloud-based security platform to provide businesses secured access to the Internet and cloud-based applications. The new service is powered by Zscaler, a global provider of cloud security solutions.
Accessing the Internet and company applications can be a security challenge, especially if users bypass premise security systems in the process. Sprint Secure Web addresses this challenge and provides users policy-based Internet access. It also offers real-time, inline protection from malware and other, more advanced threats.

Benefits of Sprint Secure Web would include
- Streamlined security – Immediately inspects traffic as it moves in and out of the internet. When a threat is detected, it would respond quickly to address potential threats everywhere in the cloud.
- Cost-effectiveness – Eliminates the need to purchase and place hardware at every company location. In addition, ‘as a service’ pricing would mean that businesses can avoid the direct costs to purchase maintain and upgrade their own security hardware.
- Exceptional user experience – Would provide faster data speeds than site-based stacks by eliminating the need to backhaul the traffic. By putting the user policies in the cloud, users get the same security and policies regardless of their location or what device they are using.
- Administrative flexibility and control – Allows administrators to manage policies for all users from one console while offering the ability to view reporting and analytics in near real-time.

Sprint Secure Web is part of Sprint Secure, a comprehensive suite of security solutions for business networks and mobility. It complements the Sprint SD-WAN offering that was announced in 2017. Sprint’s SD-WAN solution would simplify network management. Its centralized management and software-defined policies select the best path to route traffic to the Internet, cloud applications, and the data center.
