DigitalOcean (NYSE:DOCN), a global cloud provider delivering its services to developers, startups, and small businesses, has launched DigitalOcean Managed MongoDB – a fully-managed database as-a-service (DBaaS) offering provided in collaboration with database platform provider, MongoDB.

Managed MongoDB would make it simple for developers of all levels to set up MongoDB clusters on DigitalOcean’s cloud platform. It would also streamline database management by automatically maintaining, scaling, and protecting clusters, allowing developers to focus on creating applications and expanding their businesses.

“DigitalOcean’s managed services are a key way we help eliminate the complexity of the cloud so customers can easily turn their ideas into powerful applications that help change the world,” said Jeff Guy, Chief Operating Officer, DigitalOcean. “Our partnership with MongoDB expands our portfolio of highly curated, managed offerings tailored specifically to the developer, startup and SMB markets. By adding support for MongoDB we can extend the benefits of this powerful technology to our customers around the world – even those without database experience or expertise.”

“DigitalOcean and MongoDB are both focused on driving developer productivity and helping more businesses run in the cloud,” said Alan Chhabra, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Partners, MongoDB.

Managed MongoDB builds on DigitalOcean’s Managed Databases offering by automating the process of administering databases in the cloud. Clients have access to the newest MongoDB document database releases, as well as essential features like built-in security and point-in-time recovery, which lets them restore to any point in a seven-day backup history window. High availability with automatic failovers is also provided, as well as the flexibility to scale up on demand to manage traffic surges.

“DigitalOcean and MongoDB are both focused on driving developer productivity and helping more businesses run in the cloud,” said Alan Chhabra, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Partners, MongoDB. “As part of our commitment to give developers the freedom to run anywhere, we’re excited to partner with DigitalOcean to enable customers to use MongoDB to transform their applications and grow their businesses in even more regions than previously available.”

Managed MongoDB is available now in DigitalOcean’s New York, Frankfurt and Amsterdam data center regions.
