Cloudera, a provider of a platform for machine learning and advanced data analytics built on the latest open-source technologies, has announced the release of Cloudera DataFlow for the Public Cloud. It’s a cloud-native solution for data flows on the Cloudera Data Platform to execute hybrid streaming workloads (CDP).

With Cloudera DataFlow for the Public Cloud, users are enabled to automate complicated data flow processes, improve the operational efficiency of streaming data flows with auto-scaling features, and save cloud expenses by removing infrastructure sizing guesswork.

“Companies are doing the balancing act between efficiency and performance on one side and cost control as they scale up their streaming workloads,” said Maribel Lopez, Founder & Principal Analyst at Lopez Research. “The adoption of hybrid cloud architectures only escalates that challenge. Tech leaders need intelligent tools that help them streamline the process of running and managing workloads in the cloud.”

“Now it is easy for our customers to boost the operational efficiency of their streaming workloads and save on infrastructure costs in the public cloud,” said Dinesh Chandrasekhar, Head of Product Marketing, Data-in-Motion at Cloudera.

“Cloudera DataFlow automates and manages cloud-native data flows on Kubernetes – and it is something only we offer,” said Dinesh Chandrasekhar, Head of Product Marketing, Data-in-Motion at Cloudera, a company that was recently acquired by affiliates of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and KKR in an all-cash private equity transaction valued at approximately $5.3 billion. “Now it is easy for our customers to boost the operational efficiency of their streaming workloads and save on infrastructure costs in the public cloud.”

Cloudera DataFlow for the Public Cloud is a cloud-native solution for NiFi on Kubernetes that would offer essential operational and monitoring features that aren’t usually accessible with simple data flow services:

  • Manageability, discovery, and version control are all aided by a central flow catalog
  • Monitoring, debugging, and performance tweaking of data flows across different cloud clusters can all be done from a single dashboard
  • CDP manages Kubernetes and provides a simple setup wizard and comprehensive APIs for auto-scaling flows
  • ReadyFlows are pre-built flows for some of the most popular streaming application cases

Availability

Cloudera DataFlow for the Public Cloud is now generally available on AWS.
