Telx, a provider of colocation and global interconnectivity services, has just opened its 20th data center strategically located at 32 Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave) in New York City.
The newest colocation facility NYC3 brings the total number of Telx data center premises within New York City to 3 and to a total of 6 within the greater NY/NJ metro area encompassing over 550,000 gross square feet.
The Rudin Family, a multi-generational real estate organization and one of the largest real estate owners in Manhattan, with over 14 million square feet of property has ownership of the building where the new data center facility is located. The Rudin Family has chosen Telx as a long term strategic partner to exclusively manage and operate the HUB, the carrier-neutral meet me room at 32 Avenue of the Americas. The agreement establishes an initial 72,000sf with additional opportunity for growth.

Rudin’s strategic vision created the HUB which aggregates voice, data and wireless service providers in a single network dense facility. Telx will assume exclusive operation of the HUB and will develop a new 10th floor data center with the opportunity for expansion onto multiple additional floors in the distinctive, landmarked 27-story art deco tower.
The building’s existing 40+ key participants and 90+ network service providers has established the initial infrastructure to attract other Cloud & Service Providers. The establishment of NYC3 allows Telx to offer unparalleled levels of connectivity, resiliency and service throughout the New York metro with dominant assets in the three most sought after strategic locations for network connectivity in Manhattan. Telx’s interactive Marketplace will incorporate Rudin’s existing 32 Avenue of the Americas community to strengthen interconnection opportunities between NYC3 clients and the rest of Telx’s five other New York/New Jersey regional facilities.
“New York City has always been Telx’s backyard, and although we have expanded throughout the country in recent years, we always remain focused on providing unparalleled network connectivity and datacenter solutions within the New York City metro area. The establishment of NYC3 at 32 Avenue of the Americas provides Telx’s clients and prospects with a comprehensive connectivity solution and another option for expansion in New York City that is equal to the expertise and operational compliance that Telx delivers at NYC1 andNYC2,” said Chris Downie, President and Chief Financial Officer for Telx. “We are thrilled to partner with the Rudin Family as a trusted New York owner on this exciting expansion and look forward to working together to provide high-level service to the global market and countless service providers and enterprises within the greater New York City metro area.”
