Cologix, a colocation data center and network-neutral interconnection company, has announced the availability of Amazon Web Services (AWS Cloud) Direct Connect service in its MIN3 data center in Minneapolis.
Cologix’s customers in the upper Midwest planning to build hybrid cloud deployments with AWS can now leverage AWS Direct Connect services in Minneapolis. With AWS Direct Connect, customers would be able to connect to AWS via a private connection to improve performance and reduce costs.

We applaud AWS’s forward thinking to broaden the number of AWS Direct Connect nodes to reach large and sophisticated enterprises in markets like Minneapolis.”
The Minneapolis deployment of AWS Direct Connect with Cologix would provide customers high-speed, private access to the AWS US East (Ohio) Region. With a single physical connection, customers can use the new Direct Connect Gateway feature to establish connectivity to their Amazon VPCs spread across multiple AWS Regions. This location would be ideal for both AWS Cloud end customers and AWS Partner Network (APN) Partners to connect given the density of interconnection options and enterprise-grade infrastructure.
Colocation Minneapolis
With its colocation data center and interconnection services in Minneapolis, Cologix provides connectivity to 100+ unique networks and direct access to the Minnesota Internet Cooperative Exchange (MICE).
In addition to the native onramps in Minneapolis, Columbus, Montreal and Vancouver, Cologix’s Cloud Connect Platform provides its customers in Dallas, Northern New Jersey and Toronto direct access to AWS Direct Connect locations within those markets. Additionally, all Cologix customers have a broad choice of multiple APN Partners to access AWS Direct Connect locations in other markets. Cologix’s Cloud Connect Platform provides on-ramp solutions to the cloud, more direct connections to best-in-breed cloud service providers and access to independent Internet exchanges.
