Colocation Company InfoRelay Acquires Data Center In Reston, Virginia

InfoRelay Online Systems, a colocation provider with 15 facilities across the U.S., has officially acquired its second data center in Northern Virginia. The purpose-built colocation facility is equipped with both N+1 and 2N redundancy options and was previously owned by 365 Data Centers, who originally purchased the site from Equinix in 2012.

Although InfoRelay has provided network and colocation services at this facility since 2006, their new ownership of this data center would allow the company to offer more customized and robust solutions to new clients and legacy customers already colocated at the site.

InfoRelay offers a suite of services at this location, including: AC and DC power, commercial-grade Internet and private network connectivity, managed services and cloud services. The company also offers direct access to dozens of other carrier networks, which are accessible via its expansive dark-fiber network, interconnecting the commercially dense Northern Virginia region.

InfoRelay now owns two of the four Northern Virginia data centers in which the company operates. “Unlike many data centers in the area, we can provide cage space with relatively minimal power density requirements,” said Russell Weiss, President of InfoRelay. “This flexibility provides lower cost of entry, allowing us to address the needs of a broader colocation client base. We can also provide short-term contracts for data center staging as well as diverse connectivity options to key network providers which are already built into the facility.”
