ViaWest, a colocation provider delivering hybrid IT solutions in North America, has announced the launch of ‘Cloud Recovery – DRaaS.’ This Disaster Recovery as-a-Service (DRaaS) solution would help protect businesses against devastating data losses by significantly simplifying how they replicate and then recover critical data.
According to a recent Gartner report, only 6 percent of companies survive longer than two years after a major data loss; 43 percent were immediately put out of business, and an additional 51 percent of companies closed their doors within two years of a major data loss.
Gartner has calculated that it costs an average company $5,600 per minute in lost revenue, contract penalties, supply-chain ripple effects, lost productivity and other costs when its network is down, which translates to more than $330,000 per hour.
