ROOT Data Center, a provider of colocation data centers in Montreal, Canada, has secured $90 million in new financing from Goldman Sachs. This would allow the company to expand into new regions and continue to grow to meet customer demands. 

ROOT Data Center, currently operating two data centers in greater Montreal while delivering enterprise colocation as well as wholesale colocation services, will utilize the influx of capital for enhancing and adding new colocation services characterized by “highly reliable” infrastructure, green energy solutions, and strict security standards.

ROOT Data Center’s customers include cloud hosting providers, telecommunications service providers, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), multinational enterprises, and one of the largest hyperscale technology providers in the world.

The announcement follows the news that ServerMania, a provider of dedicated servers and (hybrid) cloud, chose ROOT Data Center to co-locate in one of their Montreal data centers, MTL-R2. The data center location in Canada would help ServerMania expand its international reach to serve customers both in the U.S. and Canada.
