Kao Data Appoints Spencer Lamb as new VP of Sales and Marketing

Wholesale colocation data center provider Kao Data, with its data center campus located in London, UK, has announced the appointment of Spencer Lamb to spearhead the company’s growth strategy as Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

With over 26 years of experience in data center growth, High Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud services and communications infrastructure, Spencer Lamb would be well placed to both lead the team and execute the new go-to-market strategy, which will drive customer revenue and the continued expansion of the 35MW London campus development.

“Kao Data provides customers with the ability to scale quickly at a time where demand for data, resilient power and sustainable, energy efficient data center space is at an all-time high,” said Spencer Lamb, the new VP Sales and Marketing of Kao Data. “With our abilities to service HPC and AI applications, and close proximity to the UK financial, pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, Kao is one of the most successful and disruptive new companies to join a maturing market. Ultimately, with industry experience across its leadership team that continues to innovate at every turn, I’m delighted to be part of Kao Data’s future.”

“With our abilities to service HPC and AI applications, and close proximity to the UK financial, pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, Kao is one of the most disruptive new companies to join a maturing market,” said Spencer Lamb, the new VP Sales and Marketing of Kao Data.

Situated in the UK Innovation corridor, the £200M+ Kao Data Campus provides around 150,000 square feet of technical space and 35MW power for IT equipment. The completed site will comprise four 8.8MW data centers. Dynamic load tracking at the campus site would ensure high energy-efficiency with an ultra-low PUE figure lower than 1.2, even at 20% ITE utilization. The company has made the added commitment to 100% renewable energy to power its data centers.

Recently, Kao Data signed a customer contract with EMBL-EBI, the international research infrastructure and global leader in the storage analysis and dissemination of large biological data sets.

“Spencer’s appointment is a significant step towards Kao Data’s customer acquisition strategy,” said Paul Finch, Interim CEO and COO of Kao Data. “He has the depth of industry experience and appreciates how our evolving product-set and services differentiate Kao from our peers, delivering a competitive advantage for our customers. He brings mentoring capabilities, which will add a further dimension to our sales and marketing teams. As we continue with the next phase of the campus development, his guidance will be crucial to our plans for the foreseeable future.”
