Cologix, a colocation company headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with facilities located in Columbus, Dallas, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Minneapolis, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, has closed a transaction to acquire Colo5, a colocation and disaster recovery provider with over 225,000 gross square feet across two enterprise-grade hurricane resistant facilities in Jacksonville and Lakeland, Florida.
This is the ninth acquisition for Cologix, adding scale to its rapidly growing network neutral North American data center platform. The acquisition solidifies Cologix’s position in Jacksonville with ownership of land and 125,000 square feet of colocation and disaster recovery space in a wholly-owned, Class 5 hurricane rated building.
In addition, Cologix can now offer 100,000 square feet of colocation and disaster recovery space in Lakeland, which is centrally located between Tampa and Orlando at an elevation of 197 feet (nearly 20 stories) above sea level. Lakeland’s elevation and proximity to major market centers would make it a natural location for primary or secondary IT sites for enterprises in Tampa, Orlando and Miami.

With this acquisition, Cologix supports over 850 customers across its North American data center platform, which now spans 8 markets and 20 colocation facilities. Cologix now operates network neutral data centers in Columbus, Dallas, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Minneapolis, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
