Network-neutral interconnection and colocation services provider Cologix, with edge data centers available across North America, has announced that IBM Cloud Direct Link is now available on their Access Marketplace. The Access Marketplace is a software-defined interconnection (SDI) cloud and network exchange that allows customers to select their interconnectivity partners “with speed, simplicity, and versatility.”

With the partnership, Cologix’s clients in Ashburn, Columbus, Montréal, and Toronto will have access to IBM Cloud Direct Link, providing them with enhanced connectivity, flexibility, and multicloud choices for enterprises and network providers.

According to Cologix’s Chief Revenue Officer, Chris Heinrich, the company is excited to expand its partnership with IBM Cloud and bring Cologix customers IBM Cloud Direct Link. He added that the partnership will provide customers with improved communication and faster data access at the digital periphery.

Nick Woodyard, the Product Manager for IBM Cloud Direct Link, also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and noted that Cologix customers now have the option to select the agility and advanced connectivity provided by IBM cloud services.

Bring Your Own IP

“Cologix Access Marketplace permits users to quickly connect to IBM Cloud services using a self-service online interface,” said Neal Elinski, the GM of Software Engineering for Cologix.

Customers who have IBM virtual private cloud (VPC) installations, hybrid, or cross-provider workloads, large or frequent data exchanges, and private or controlled workloads are ideal candidates for using IBM Cloud Direct Link. The service also supports numerous VPCs within the same account, enhances Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) address choices, would allow connection to multiple IBM Cloud accounts via VPC using a single Direct Link, and offers billing on a metered basis, providing flexibility and reducing the threshold for entrance into the IBM Cloud.

Neal Elinski, the General Manager of Software Engineering for Cologix, stated that the company continually strives to give its customers strategic advantages as they scale their cloud infrastructures at the digital edge. By bringing IBM Cloud’s regional resources to Cologix, the company aims to provide customers with the very best connectivity options to meet their business needs. Cologix Access Marketplace permits users to “quickly” connect to IBM Cloud services using a self-service online interface.

Customers have full control over their interconnection ecosystems when using the Cologix Access Marketplace, which functions as a digital version of the traditional Meet-Me-Room. The platform features conspicuous listings of all available interconnection providers organized according to connection type and geographic availability. Customers would also benefit from on-demand connections to major cloud suppliers, including IBM Cloud Direct Link.

Cologix’s Access Marketplace is expanding rapidly. The company’s collection of interconnection partners would now include over 700 networks, 350 cloud providers, and 30 North American onramps.

The partnership between Cologix and IBM Cloud Direct Link is expected to benefit B2B tech-savvy business readers by providing them with enhanced connectivity and flexibility, as well as multicloud choices for their enterprises and network providers.
