North American network-neutral interconnection and hyperscale edge data center provider, Cologix, will expand its hyperscale edge data center portfolio by adding three new facilities. In addition, Cologix has given its hyperscale edge data centers a new name: Scalelogix. Cologix’s purpose is to create cloud-first solutions and services that scale digital infrastructure for the hyperscale market at the digital edge, and this name reflects that mission.

The North American colocation and hyperscale data center provider has announced the construction of three new Scalelogix data centers in Ashburn, Virginia, Columbus, Ohio, and Silicon Valley, California, totaling 1 million square feet and 200 megawatts of power.
Cologix now runs three multi-tenant Scalelogix data centers in Columbus, Ohio, and Montreal, Canada, totaling 440K square feet and 70MW of electricity.

According to the research, the hyperscale data center market topped $20 billion in 2020 and is expected to rise at a 15 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2021 to 2027 due to worldwide development in 5G, IoT devices, and increased usage of online services.
