Data center operator Continuum Data Centers has announced the addition of David Layton to its management team. Mr. Layton, a data center veteran who has 30 years of industry experience, will serve as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Most recently, he was in an engineering management position for data center and colocation solutions provider, Digital Realty Trust.
Prior to Digital Realty Trust, Mr. Layton served as a senior operating executive with SwitchNAP and Terremark. He would have a track record of building world-class operation teams focused on delivering the highest levels of customer service and sales success. Layton’s ability to build and lead a team was evidenced by Terremark’s explosive west coast market expansion where he built the business from inception to over $35 million in annual sales, and sustained “an extremely high level of” customer satisfaction/retention.

“We are extremely excited to have Dave join our team,” said Eli D. Scher, Chairman and CEO of Continuum Data Centers. “Dave brings leadership, a track record of performance, and deep industry experience. He not only has engineering capabilities, but also a customer-focused approach, which is rare. I look forward to building this business together.”
Layton agreed, “It is an exciting time to join Eli and his team. The Continuum data center product is extremely high quality, and I look forward to bringing my expertise to bear in ensuring that our engineering excellence translates into positive customer experiences and sustained growth.”
