Corel, a global software vendor, boasting some of the industry’s best-known graphics, productivity and digital media products, has announced it is offering customers access to a wide selection of its flagship applications including CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X7, WordPerfect Office X7, Corel PDF Fusion, Corel PaintShop Pro X7 and WinZip via AWS Marketplace for Desktop Apps.Â
The newly launched AWS Marketplace for Desktop Apps allows customers to easily provision cloud-based desktops that enable end-users to access the documents, applications and resources they need with the device of their choice, including laptops, iPad, Kindle Fire, Android tablets, and zero clients. By supporting this service, Corel can offer its flagship Windows applications to customers using alternative platforms.
“With the addition of applications like CorelDRAW and PaintShop Pro, AWS Marketplace for Desktop Apps is giving IT departments a flexible and cost effective way to offer the power of full-featured creative and productivity applications from any device, at any time with Amazon WorkSpaces delivery,” said Dave McCann, Vice President, AWS Marketplace, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Education and enterprise customers will now be able to offer Corel’s desktop software in a bring-your-own-device environment. AWS Marketplace for Desktop Apps would reduce the overall costs of procuring applications and also provide flexible licensing solutions that can be tailored to the client’s specific needs.
“Corel has been on the forefront of its work with Amazon Web Services with the introduction of WinZip on Amazon WorkSpaces a year ago,” said Patrick Nichols, CEO, Corel. “Building on this success, we’re excited to be expanding our offering to include four additional Corel products. As more academic and corporate environments move towards a bring-your-own-device model, AWS Marketplace for Desktop Apps gives users access to the full power of Corel’s desktop apps, from virtually any platform they choose.”
