Cradlepoint and AT&T are growing their joint network offerings with a comprehensive portfolio of 5G solutions in the United States by utilizing AT&T Wireless Broadband. The broadband offered by AT&T is a business-focused broadband network with 5G coverage for more than 230 million people in around 1400 towns and cities.
The new solutions integrate clean-slate-designed Cradlepoint 5G wideband adapters and routers along with its NetCloud Service with AT&T’s nationwide wireless broadband network, data plans in the US, and an AT&T management option for Cradlepoint devices.
With the help of AT&T wireless broadband, these 5G solutions would provide flexibility to businesses as they can choose the speed, management structure, solution, and quality of service as per their requirement with no overage charges.
Built for IT And 5G
Talking about 5G wireless wide-area network (Wireless WAN) connectivity, the expectations of enterprises are higher than just a simple work-from-home solution and one-size-fits-all data plans. They want to support a wide set of branch and mobile use cases. In addition to that, enterprises also need amplified end-to-end security and the tools that can help in managing an entire Wireless WAN lifecycle, from deployment to daily operations, or to go for an AT&T managed service to do the same thing for them. AT&T and Cradlepoint will collaboratively offer a comprehensive portfolio of end-to-end 5G solutions and will also focus on meeting the IT organization’s management and security-based requirements.
Chief Product and Platform Officer at AT&T Business, Rasesh Patel, said that AT&T Wireless Broadband plays an important role in bringing 5G to the nationwide market. He further said that businesses continue to transform and are crucial when it comes to building an ecosystem that brings advantages of 5G to life. He concluded his statement by saying that their firm is providing tools for businesses to innovate and build the foundation for a 5G based world.
Bringing 5G to SD-WAN
SD-WAN is almost similar to branch networking in enterprises. The Cradlepoint W-series Wideband Adapters deliver a cloud-managed 5G modem that works smoothly with the SD-WAN architectures. Enterprises can use 5G with SD-WAN as a primary connection to augment a wireline link or high-speed failover connection. AT&T provides SD-WAN solutions, including AT&T Wireless Broadband, for any business need virtually along with “next-generation” software in the cloud for boosted control, agility, and visibility. Cradlepoint along with AT&T offers multiple options to enterprises for bringing 5G to SD-WAN.
On one hand, Cradlepoint Netcloud Manager will provide IT teams with complete lifecycle management of their Wireless WAN and on the other hand, some organizations are leaving their management to someone else. For such types of customers, AT&T has introduced the AT&T Managed Wireless WAN service. This brand-new service by the firm focuses on delivering proactive management of a customer’s 5G and LTE enabled network, including Cradlepoint adapters and routers. Cradlepoint was acquired by Ericsson for $1.1 billion in December last year.
