Cyxtera Launches New Self-Service Capabilities for Global Data Center Platform

Cyxtera colocation data centers

Cyxtera, a global provider of data center colocation and interconnection services, has launched new online self-service capabilities that would allow organizations to choose and implement services in a matter of minutes. These capabilities would make it possible for businesses to evaluate, purchase, and implement services from Cyxtera’s global data center platform with ease. The purchasing process has been streamlined to provide a nimble alternative to the public cloud for commercial operations.

Organizations can now search for and provision on-demand infrastructure, space, electricity, connectivity, and other services in Cyxtera’s colocation data centers with just the press of a button. Customers can take advantage of this service even if they do not have an existing contract or need to participate in a protracted sales process.

“Our new self-service capabilities give customers everything they like about the cloud – the ability to select and provision on-demand services quickly,” said Mitch Fonseca, Cyxtera’s Chief Development Officer. “In addition, they get the cost predictability, performance, and control they get from running dedicated infrastructure in a data center.”

“Our new self-service capabilities give customers everything they like about the cloud – the ability to select and provision on-demand services quickly,” said Mitch Fonseca, Cyxtera’s Chief Development Officer.

Cyxtera would offer a cloud-like purchasing experience with access to dedicated, single tenancy infrastructure at a predictable monthly cost. It would enable businesses to expand rapidly while avoiding both capital expenditure and budget overruns.

With the help of Cyxtera’s Digital Exchange data center network fabric and Enterprise Bare Metal offering, organizations can select on-demand services from a number of the industry’s most reputable enterprise suppliers, such as Dell, HPE, and NVIDIA. They also have the option of provisioning Cyxtera SmartCabs if they would rather use their own technology. Organizations are able to leverage Cyxtera IP Connect to immediately provision internet connectivity regardless of the configuration they choose to use.

Cyxtera is a provider of colocation and interconnection services with a portfolio of more than 60 colocation data centers spread across over 30 countries. Cyxtera is expanding its product offering beyond space and electricity to provide more cloud-like and adaptable infrastructure solutions across its global data center platform and strong partner ecosystem. This is in response to the fact that IT infrastructure is becoming increasingly hybrid, complex, and distributed.

Cyxtera’s newly implemented online self-service capabilities would enable customers to quickly and virtually observe, administer, and control their infrastructure from anywhere in the world with the help of Cyxtera’s single-pane-of-glass customer interface known as Command Center. This would allow data center colocation clients to improve their levels of productivity, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility.
