Asperitas, a Dutch cleantech company that recently won the TNO Piet de Jong innovation award for its Data Center in a Box solution with servers being submerged in oil, has started the new-year with a new initiative – the Asperitas Referral Program. Their referral model seems quite straightforward. When a relationship is established and it results in new business for the Dutch cleantech specialists, the participant is being rewarded with a 1% stake.
Asperitas’ innovation – the AIC24 Data Center in a Box solution – would fit cloud computing, enterprises, edge data centers, and High Performance Computing (HPC) environments. According to Asperitas, their Immersed Computing technology reduces about 50% of the energy footprint of a data center while being able to reuse at least 98% of the IT electricity consumption and transform it into hot water of up to 65 degrees Celsius. Also, data centers with already energy-efficient measures in place would be able to benefit from Asperitas’ energy-reducing features.
The footprint of the water-cooled oil-immersion data center system delivered by Asperitas is rather small. Besides that, it can be deployed anywhere rapidly, as it is ‘plug and play’ and doesn’t require pre-installed data center infrastructure. The AIC24 Data Center in a Box solution features highly modular scalable characteristics allowing for massive deployments of interconnected Immersed Computing systems.
Customers AIC24
As said, the referral model on offering seems quite simple. Believers in the Asperitas mission and technology can introduce this Data Center in a Box solution, the AIC24, to their peers and potential clients. If a relationship is established and it results in new business for the Dutch cleantech specialists, the participant in the Asperitas Referral Program is being rewarded with a 1% stake.
Current users of the Immersed Computing technology include the Austrian collaboration of universities, the Vienna Scientific Cluster. They’re using an Asperitas AIC24 solution as part of their HPC environment for over a year now. Besides that, the first dedicated ‘Immersed Computing’ data center hall for cloud services is currently being deployed at EcoRacks data center in “the high-tech heart of the Netherlands, in Eindhoven.”
