Aligned, a data center provider that provides sustainable and adaptable colocation and build-to-scale solutions for cloud, business, and managed service providers (MSPs), has announced the development of a new data center campus in the Salt Lake Metro Area. The new Aligned SLC-04 facility will combine the company’s patented Delta3 cooling technology with a “state-of-the-art” waterless heat rejection system.
Aligned acquired a multi-megawatt site for its latest waterless build-to-scale data center development. Following the introduction of its second Salt Lake Metro data center, SLC-02, in Q1 2021, and in advance of a third master-planned facility on its West Jordan, Utah, site, the expansion would further support its geo-redundant growth in the region.
The Aligned SLC-04 data center project is expected to be completed in December 2021, with an aggressive six-month construction schedule.
“Our latest Salt Lake data center is an example of Aligned’s ability to provide agile Build-to-Scale solutions focused on driving optionality, reducing added cost and risk, and enabling industry-leading construction timelines and quality,” said Andrew Schaap, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aligned. “In addition to speed and scale, the development also satisfies our customer’s requirement for water conservation, while still delivering industry-leading Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). Combined with our ultra-efficient Delta3 cooling technology, Utah’s cold desert climate enables us to deliver a waterless data center solution.”
Tested Data Center Power and Cooling Equipment

Regardless of altitude or geographical climatic zone, Aligned’s Delta3 cooling technology would provide significant efficiency improvements across expanding rack density and next-generation workloads for optimum flexibility and adaptability. Clients can also expand on-demand using Aligned’s Delta3 cooling systems, incrementally expanding in place up to 50kW per rack without stranding capacity.
Aligned’s build-to-suit solutions, also known as ‘Build-to-Scale’, are created for optimum scale and delivered at remarkable speed to meet the complex needs of today’s major organizations and hyperscalers. Aligned can complete a Build-to-Scale project in any location, preemptively analyzing sites across numerous facets in several markets to minimize development timescales, from campuses to specialized data center installations.
The company’s prefabricated, factory-built, and tested power and cooling equipment is always ready for immediate use, thanks to Aligned’s vendor-managed inventory (VMI), which is a fundamental component of its innovative supply chain methodology.
