AI-enhanced hardware cybersecurity company, Axiado, has announced the release of its SCM3000 family of modules compliant to the Open Compute Project’s (OCP) data center secure control module (DC-SCM) Rev2.0 Ver 1.0 base specification. As a participant in OCP’s Startup Program, Axiado is actively ensuring compatibility of their new platform security solution with key OCP hardware and software ecosystem partners.
The cornerstone of DC-SCM 2.0 is established by the integration of Axiado’s Trusted Control/Compute Unit (TCU), which was announced and sampled in early 2023. This integration would also broaden Axiado’s enterprise platform management solutions. With regard to scalability, endurance, and compatibility across business platform generations, the new SCM3000 module family would set a new benchmark.
The DC-SCM Rev2.0 modules would effectively create a single-chip-based DC-SCM solution by fusing Axiado’s “cutting-edge” TCU with AI/ML capabilities. These would include crucial functions like baseboard management controller (BMC), complex programmable logic device (CPLD), trusted platform module (TPM), and platform root of trust (PRoT).
Two modules offering form-factor flexibility for host processor modules (HPM) are part of Axiado’s new SCM3000 family:
- SCM3001 – DC-SCM 2.0 Card, 1U vertical: Designed specifically for cloud, 5G, and business network switches, this little card’s design will be made publicly available by year’s end via a donation to the OCP community
- SCM3002 – DC-SCM 2.0 Horizontal Card: This card complies with DC SCM 2.0 requirements in its design
The SCM3000 modules’ extensive compatibility with HPM platforms would be one of its main advantages, as it may guarantee a seamless experience for a variety of system implementations. A single system-on-chip (SoC) device’s implementation would also offer a small and effective vertical form factor that maximizes space consumption while improving adaptability to different host processor motherboards.
Open Compute Project’s Startup Program
According to CTO Raghu Kondapalli of Axiado, “Axiado’s industry-leading 1U server-compatible DC-SCM 2.0 vertical form factor and standard horizontal form factor cards are constructed on a ‘DC-SCM-on-a-chip’ single-chip integrated solution. This solution provides platform security, management, multi-tenancy, and AI/ML capabilities for real-time detection of vulnerabilities and threats such as ransomware.”
Cliff Grossner, Ph.D., Chief Innovation Officer at OCP, said, “Axiado is actively ensuring compatibility of their new platform security solution with key hardware and software ecosystem partners as a participant in the Open Compute Project‘s Startup Program. This exemplifies how the OCP Community serves as a cornerstone for Axiado’s accelerated market deployment through the adoption and development of equipment based upon Open Compute Projectspecifications.”
In addition to the new SCM3000 modules, Axiado is also introducing a PCI Express card (NCM3000) powered by Axiado’s TCU, delivering accelerated 1G/10G security processing and optimized workload execution.
Availability
The NCM card and both SCM cards are now on sale and will be on display from October 17–19, 2023, at the OCP Summit.
